A 3-day itinerary for Niagara Falls

Three easy days from a base in Thorold: the falls first, then the entertainment strip and a good dinner, then wine country. Drive times are from our suite.

Day 1: Arrive, settle in and see the falls at night

  • Check in from 4:00 PM with self check-in
  • Evening drive to the falls (about 19 minutes) and a walk along the railing when they are lit
  • Dinner and an after-dinner stroll on Clifton Hill (about 14 minutes)

Day 2: The falls up close and Skylon Tower

  • Morning boat tour into the mist (about 16 minutes)
  • Journey Behind the Falls at Table Rock (about 19 minutes)
  • Lunch at Table Rock House or Clifton Hill
  • Sunset dinner at Skylon Tower (about 15 minutes)

Day 3: Wine country and Niagara-on-the-Lake

  • Late-morning wine tasting at one or two estates (see our top 10 wineries)
  • Lunch and a walk along Queen Street in Old Town
  • Optional: the Whirlpool Aero Car on the way back (seasonal, about 18 minutes from the suite)
  • Check out by 11:00 AM before you set out, or leave the day for the road home

Make it your own

Swap days around to suit the weather. On a rainy day, go to wine country first and save the outdoor sights. Our things to do and restaurant guides have the full lists.
